About me

I've always believed that life is an adventure, an exploration of possibilities, something to be treasured and enjoyed to the full. It's not always been easy though! I've met my fair share of challenges and I've overcome most of them. I've tried to apply positive thinking even in the most difficult times and I've used self-hypnosis regularly since discovering it at university. I've achieved most of the things I set out to achieve and I've learnt a lot along the way. Now I'd like to help you discover your life goals and work with you on the path to their achievement.  

My path

My path so far has included learning to fly, studying in France, living on a boat, moving across the world, losing our treasured possessions in a fire, raising pigs and milking a cow, having twins through NZ's first IVF programme with ICSI, living in Saudi Arabia at the same time as 9/11, setting up a charity rehoming ex-racing greyhounds, rescuing a horse and cantering on the beach. Next on the list is travelling around Europe.​

​My qualifications

I hold a Diploma in Clinical & Advanced Hypnosis (DipCAH), an NLP Practitioner Certificate and Certificate in Ericksonian Hypnosis. I also hold a BA (Hons) in Law & Economics, a Certificate in Financial Planning (UK) and a Diploma in Herbal Studies.

The techniques I use

I use Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and hypnotherapy to explore possible futures and release problems from the past. These techniques are very similar and work with the patterns that are embedded in your subconscious mind. Most of the time you are not aware of them but occasionally they may surface to conscious awareness, eg, when you get frustrated with yourself and ask 'Why do I always do that?!' There is an answer but you have to work with the subconscious mind to find it.

Hypnotherapy uses the trance state to bypass the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious. Trance is simply a very relaxed state of consciousness. Trance occurs naturally and there are different depths of trance, eg, day dreaming is a light trance state whereas somnambulism is much deeper. For coaching purposes only a light trance is usually used to access your subconscious resources.

I may also suggest more practical exercises for you to work through, such as the card sort for working out your values.
